Scholarships
At the Michigan Actors Studio, in addition to providing acting training, we do something else that we consider to be even more important: we help people to feel empowered to tell their stories by offering tools and support to find and develop their authentic voice.
We know that representation matters, and in order for there to be equality of representation, there has to be equity of access to training.
We are pleased to announce the Black Artists Matter Scholarship which provides full-tuition to your choice of our Acting Fundamentals, Stand Up - the First Five, or Breaking the Mold: Learn to Write for Yourself class.
This is an ongoing opportunity with 4 scholarships available per semester.
We are also happy to partner with the Black Improv Alliance providing scholarships for their 100 Black Improviser Program.
This is an ongoing opportunity with 3 full-tuition scholarships available per semester for any of our Improv for Everyone classes.

How to Apply:
Simply submit a video that is one minute or less (any videos longer than one minute will not be eligible) telling us:
-
which one of these four classes you'd like to take (Acting, Writing, Stand Up or Improv) and
-
why it's important to you
This scholarship is open to all Black artists ages 18+ who are looking to explore or expand their performing arts training. No experience is necessary and no forms are required.
Join our diverse and welcoming student body that features small class sizes, instructors with decades of professional (and teaching) experience and a passion for helping you to tell your unique story.
We see you, we hear you, we stand with you.
