STAND UP COMEDY II--The Second 5

This workshop is geared toward students who have completed the introductory First Five Stand Up Comedy Class or those that have some training and want to develop their persona and material further.  We will continue to further explore material development, stage persona and stand-up stagecraft. Learn with one of the best in a safe and supportive environment. Class will end with a stand up show where you can try out all your material on the MAS stage

STAGE COMBAT

This workshop is for actors of all experience levels. The class size allows for personal instruction and individual attention. The skills learned here will help you create compelling theatrical fights with weapons.  

Topics include: 
•    Hand -to-hand combat
•    Sword combat
•    Kicks, throws and falls
•    Combination of the two forms in a fight created by the students based on what they have mastered.

SKETCH COMEDY WRITING WORKSHOP

Free your mind and Build great comedy! From Saturday Night Live to Mad TV to I Think You Should Leave, sketches have been a major form of comedic expression. In this 3-week workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of creating engaging, entertaining and original comedic scenes from former Second City producer Rico Bruce Wade. Students will gain the skills needed to write, analyze and edit material and explore techniques for scene development. A strong focus on collaboration will help students discover their own unique perspectives in a supportive, encouraging environment.

CREATING COMPELLING CHARACTERS

Whether it is drama, comedy or anything in between it is all about creating compelling, truthful characters. This 3-week class on character building will help any actor at any level create new and believable characters. MONOLOGUE/AUDITION WORKSHOP
